About 25 years ago, the phrase “Keep Austin Weird” was introduced in our city.  When that  door opened to the idea of Austin being weird, the enemy took the opportunity to begin sowing all manner of witchcraft into this city.  Lies and deception began putting a stranglehold on Austin trying to snuff out her light.  Throughout the seven mountains of society: government, business, education, family, media, arts and entertainment, and yes, even the church, satan was busy corrupting thoughts and long-established values.  Today, this is an entirely different city, but we know  God had better things in mind for this Capitol city.

Though it may be hard to discern in the midst of the darkness that can be felt here, God has been working behind the scenes preparing a takeover of epic proportion.  He has brought people into this city from all over as part of His army.  Worship leaders, intercessors, Kingdom builders and innovators have been moved here to establish a new culture and prepare the harvest field.  He’s also brought truthtellers on every level, some already Christ followers, others that are pre-believers.  The list of people in Austin on social media telling the truth about government, healthcare, education, and media itself is very impressive with names like Joe Rogan, Lara Logan, Dell Bigtree, Mike Adams, Mikki Willis, Alex Jones and RoseAnn Barr.  These are people with huge followings that are delivering truth every day.  In addition, there are many people with much smaller platforms that are delivering truth as well.  We call them DOTs, Deliverers of Truth. Luke 4:18 Ministries has called our Deliverance Ministers DOTs for many years, but as we are now seeing, DOTs come in many forms.  Anyone speaking Truth is a DOT!  Our desire is to see DOTs all over the city, speaking truth to whoever they meet.  The greatest truth we have to proclaim is Yeshua is King, and to see the great harvest of souls reaped.  This isn’t just about evangelism, though.  This is about changing a worldview, creating a Kingdom culture, and modeling heaven.

Truth brings forth Light and Light overcomes the darkness every time.  Darkness and evil lurk all over Austin, witches and witchcraft have tried to capture this city, but as the Spirit of Truth speaks and worshippers release the High Praises of God, the darkness is being dispelled right before our eyes.  We must acknowledge the many worshippers that have flocked to Austin and our large music festivals have begun to embrace Christian music and Kingdom thinking.  Just a few years ago, it was hard to find a venue accepting Christian music at SxSW, but in 2023 Sunday Service was birthed with the help of the Luis Pulau organization.  An entire day was given to Christian Business and Organizations to promote Christian values in the marketplace with worship music interspersed between sessions.  The response was so positive that last year, a weekend was given to the event and this year, it was given an entire week.   Worship teams are no longer a step-child at SxSW, there has been a phenomenal response to this type of venue and we expect this is exactly what God wants to happen in the middle of the city.

Austin City Limits had a similar history, but the venue is now owned by a Christian-minded family that is calling for the venue to support family values and God-centered presentations along with all the other types of things being offered. The shift in these two events is very telling of how the Lord is moving in our midst.  Weird is not our identity, but Austin truly is becoming the Worship Capital of the World, a place where Yeshua is worshipped, praised and glorified; a place where Truth is spoken and lives are changed.

Last week we saw it again as the Bob Bullock museum hosted the World Premiere of Follow the Silenced. Our words, blessings and love will change our city into that which God desires her to be.  It’s our opportunity to partner with Him and see miraculous change come for the glory of His Name.  God calls Austin a Truth Center!  Will you be one of His DOTs?
