Feast of Trumpets
FEAST OF TRUMPETS
YOM TERUAH
Tishrei 1
Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’ Leviticus 23:24 – 25
Tishrei is the 7th month on the Hebrew calendar. The three fall feasts occur during this month, making it a very important and holy season. Seven is tied to rest, shabbat, which is the first thing God says in this scripture, “On the first of this month, you shall take a rest.” Today is a sabbath day. He invites us, even calls us to cease from our labor and pull aside with Him. Enter into worship and listen for His voice. We can expect that as we quiet ourselves in His Presence, He will speak to us! After all, it was Him who set this appointment with us. It is His Moed.
The Lord has established the first two days of Tishrei as the Feast of Trumpets, also known as Yom Teruah, a day of blowing. As we see in the scripture, it says this is a “reminder by the blowing of the trumpets.”
The blast of the shofar is a deep, penetrating sound meant to awaken our spirits to attention. This year, the Lord is releasing the sound of Awakening in an amplified way! He is awakening us so that we will return to Him. This is an historic turning point for the nations of the earth. Charlie Kirk is an instrument God is using in the process.
Charlie was known as a voice that rang out loud with truth and righteousness. His purpose was to glorify the Lord, to expose the lies, and to draw others into the Kingdom. He was a shofar of awakening across the land and, with his passing, his voice only got louder. We see it happening before our eyes.
“We are Charlie” is an awakening movement. God is using it to cause us to recognize that we are all shofars. We all have a part in awakening others and causing their hearts to be shaken with the Truth of God’s word. But we all have to submit ourselves to the process of being Awakened in so many ways.
We have been deceived on many levels but God is setting us free. He wants us to know who we were before the foundation of the world. Your spirit and God communed in the heavenly realm before you ever walked on this earth. What did you know – about God, about yourself, about your assignments – before the world began conforming you to its mold?
This is part of the returning to the Lord. Not just stopping some sin behavior, but returning to our true selves, who God made us to be. We are becoming free people so we can fully express Him. This is a glorious exchange.
Let’s make the most of this Fall Feast season, let’s fully surrender to the Lord and see how He makes all things beautiful in His time!
