Cleansing the Home

Our eternal dwelling place is with Jesus, the Prince of Peace. In His Presence is fullness of joy. He is our Light and Life. Our home on earth should possess these qualities, as well. Often times, however, our home can feel more like a battleground; it manifests what’s going on in the spiritual realm. Through prayer we can take back this ground and cleanse our atmosphere of demonic interference.

Cleansing your home can drive out confusion that wants to rob you and your family of sleep, harmony in relationships, bad habits and anxiety. Peace and blessing can rule in your home. Praying through the house should be done when you move into a new home, but also can be done when you sense strife or a lack of peace. Cleanse the atmosphere and restore God’s order to your dwelling place.

Take anointing oil with you to apply to doors and windows that serve as gateways of entry to the outside, but also within the house. As you enter each room, ask God to show you what is going on in that room. Holy Spirit will reveal specific areas to pray about. There may be a need for repentance for sin committed in that room. Or there may be blessings the Lord wants to release to the family or the individual whose room it is. Ask the Lord to show you any unholy or cursed objects that need to be removed from the room, home or property.

Here is a simple prayer to pray through the rooms of your house.

Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me authority to cleanse and pray over my domain. You have made me to be the steward of my home and today I invite your presence to rule and reign in our midst. I ask you to reveal to me any specific areas that need prayer in this room. I repent for the __sin committed_____ in this room. I decree Your Blood covers this sin and restores Godly order here. I establish You as King in this place and say to every unclean spirit you are no longer able to rule in this place. I command you to go where the Lord Jesus sends you now. I release angels to take up their place in this room and to guard all who enter here. Carry out the blessings of the Lord intended for those who dwell here. I decree that no evil shall befall us, nor shall any plague come near this dwelling place, for we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I release the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to uncover the mysteries of heaven as we gather in this room. Enlighten the eyes of our understanding and cause our hearts to be turned toward You.

Here is a more general prayer to cover your entire home and property.

Lord Jesus, all You have given to me, I give back to You. I decree that You are the lawful owner of this dwelling place and I declare that this is a habitation of righteousness made for Your glory. I speak the Name of Jesus and the power of His Blood over this home and property. I now command that any objects, curses, hexes, vexes, spells, incantations, forms of witchcraft or demonic activities that have taken up residence be rendered null and void by the authority and power of Jesus’ Blood and the His Name. I command all demonic spirits to leave the premises now and the effects of their curses be reversed and turned back against themselves. I seal up all points of entry, every portal and gateway with the Blood of Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, that by Your Blood we are protected from any astral projection trying to enter this home. I decree that Jesus is a wall of fire around this dwelling place and He is constantly rejoicing over this dwelling place. I decree the blessings of God are overtaking us continually and we are prospering. All relationships, businesses, ministries, finances, health, and family matters that take place under this roof are covered by Your Blood and blessed by You. I command angels to be stationed at the four corners of this property and for legions of angels to guard and keep us according to Your Word. Thank you that You alone are our strong tower, our Protector, Healer and Deliverer. We yield ourselves and our dwelling place to You. Amen!
