In Luke 4:18, Jesus declared that he was anointed by the Spirit of the Lord to proclaim healing and freedom.
The same Spirit is at work today in the followers of Jesus.
Vision Luke 4:18 Ministries provides opportunities for individuals to seek and experience healing and freedom through prayer and spiritual direction, deliverance sessions and healing rooms.
Prayer and spiritual direction
God loves people. He wants them to know that he is always close by. That’s why scripture refers to Jesus as “Immanuel,” which means “God With Us.” Barbara’s own home operates as a “healing room.” This is a space dedicated to prayer, friendship and guidance.
Praying together goes beyond intercession. Barbara guides participants to experience the presence of Immanuel, as well as a strong sense of discernment and direction from the Holy Spirit.
Vision Luke 4:18 Ministries is an accredited member of the International Association of Healing Rooms.
Many live at the mercy of physical and spiritual torment. In Deliverance prayer, Barbara and her team help participant break free of oppression and make room for the joy of the Lord.
Light House is a monthly Healing Room event where participants ask God to heal them in specific ways. Trained intercessors surround them and join them in prayer. Miracles abound!
Every year, hundreds of women in Austin find themselves at a crisis point.
Homeless. Addicted. No where to go.
Jesus came to proclaim good news to the poor.
Vision Luke 4:18 Ministries founded House of Glory and Faith House as living representations of that good news.
Through these two homes, Barbara and her team have provided housing for over 100 women. During their stay, the women receive holistic care. They are not only provided shelter, they are also equipped with the tools they need to grow as individuals.
Participants are guided through a systematic approach to personal and spiritual transformation. The goal is to be a healing community that leads individuals to Christlike maturity.
This is only the beginning. Vision Luke 4:18 Ministries is seeking to expand into a third home. There are also plans for an equipping center, where hundreds can experience life skills training and spiritual formation.
Vision Luke 4:18 Ministries is driven by a belief that through prayer the Body of Christ in Austin can unite around Jesus’s mission.
Barbara and her team provide inspiration and guidance for interdenominational efforts that serve Austin. She has served on a number of boards and advisory committees, such as:
